Take that Mr Lester

Currently Mr ‘I am 2015’s pitching savior’ Lester has still not made a choice on which team he wants to bless with his presence.

THAT thankfully didn’t stop the White Socks from making the biggest pitching moves so far. The White Stockings picked up two of the available tier 2 pitchers ( they really aren’t tier 2 but they weren’t the big three everyone has been waiting with baited breath over Lester, Scherzer, Shields)

Chi Town picked up both Samardzija from the A’s, who are in full on sell the farm mode, and Robertson from the Yankees. Samardzija is a great starter and being from the Cubs originally will feel right at home in Chicago, which will probably translate to more confidence then this season. I think what surprised me more is that the Yankees totally didn’t counter offer or anything on Robertson who has been their closer since Mariano retired. Before Robertson was thrown into a ‘follow a legend’ role he was an All-Star (2011) and helped win a World Series (2009). I understand he wasn’t outstanding this past year but he still had 39 saves and a 3.08 ERA. This is the kind of thing I was talking about when I wrote about Gregorius taking over for a legend. These two additions are really going to have opportunities to shine in the rotation and bullpen of the Devoid of color Knitted foot warmers as last year pitching was one of their weakest areas.

Well thank you Chicago for breaking the first day of winter meetings and stealing some of the thunder from the Lester.

“Would it save you a lot of time if I just gave up and went mad now?”
